Hotel Marius is at Hocapasa Mah. Orhaniye Cad. No:10-12, Sirkeci, Fatih, Istanbul - inside the historic peninsula. The Sirkeci tram and Marmaray stations are about 50 metres away and the Eminonu ferry piers are a short walk.
Hagia Sophia is about 12 minutes on foot and Topkapı Palace about 13. The Basilica Cistern is 11 minutes, the Spice Bazaar 8, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar 15. Times are measured from the hotel door at a normal walking pace.
From Istanbul Airport (IST): M11 metro to Gayrettepe, M2 to Yenikapı, then Marmaray one stop to Sirkeci — about 80–100 minutes, no taxi needed. From Sabiha Gökçen (SAW): M4 metro to Ayrılık Çeşmesi, then Marmaray straight to Sirkeci — about 50 minutes. The hotel is about 50 m from the Sirkeci station exit. Private transfers can be arranged on request.
Yes. A Byzantine-era cistern was uncovered beneath the building during its restoration. Its stone vault was left in place and set behind glass on the lower floor, so you can see it during your stay.
