Hotel Marius stands in Sirkeci, Istanbul's first settlement, with a history reaching back 8,500 years. This is the ground where the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires each made their capital — and where the city's oldest streets still hum with life.
Sleep on top of that history, and wake up minutes from everything worth seeing in Istanbul.
Read Our StoryA 53-second drone flight over Sirkeci Station and down our street, then through the hotel itself — rooms, corridors and the lobby. It shows how close the station, the tram and the old city really are.

Most first-time visitors come for the historic sights, so the Historic Peninsula — Sultanahmet, Sirkeci and Eminönü — is the most practical base: Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and the bazaars are within walking distance. Sirkeci adds the best transport links in the old city, with Marmaray trains to both airports, the T1 tram and the Eminönü ferries. Hotel Marius is in Sirkeci, about 12 minutes on foot from Hagia Sophia.
It suits first-time visitors who want to walk to the main sights and arrive by public transport: Hagia Sophia is about 8 minutes on foot, Marmaray connects to both airports without a taxi, breakfast is included and the front desk is open 24 hours in five languages. If nightlife is your priority, Beyoğlu or Karaköy may suit you better.

Yes. Visiting supporters are usually gathered around Sultanahmet and Sirkeci and taken to the stadium in police-escorted coaches, so the hotel is a short walk from where the trip usually starts — check your club's travel information for the meeting point. Travelling independently, the Tüpraş Stadium (Beşiktaş) is about 25–30 minutes by the T1 tram, the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium (Fenerbahçe) about 25 minutes by Marmaray, and RAMS Park (Galatasaray) about 45 minutes by Marmaray and the M2 metro.
On the 2026 course the 42 km race finishes in front of the Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet, about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, and the 15.5 km race finishes at Yenikapı, one Marmaray stop away. The start is on the Asian side at the July 15 Martyrs Bridge; the Marmaray crosses from Sirkeci to Üsküdar in about four minutes. Check the organiser's race-day transport before you set out.
Sirkeci is a central, busy neighbourhood in the historic old city, next to Sirkeci station and the Eminönü waterfront. As in any big tourist city, keep an eye on bags in crowded bazaars and use official taxis or the BiTaksi app; our front desk can arrange a taxi or an airport transfer for you.
