The walk from the hotel
The Marmaray and T1 tram entrances are about 50 m from our door — step outside and you are there. The Marmaray platforms are deep underground, so allow a few minutes for the escalators; the T1 tram stops at street level outside the historic station building.

Before you go
Sirkeci was the eastern terminus of the Orient Express; its station building, finished in 1890 to a design by August Jasmund, still stands, with its Orientalist façade and stained-glass windows. From here the Marmaray runs under the Bosphorus to the Asian side and connects with the metro lines to both airports, and the T1 tram climbs to Sultanahmet and runs down to Kabataş. You can buy and top up an İstanbulkart at the machines by the entrances.
