Before you go
The Blue Mosque is a working mosque and free to enter. It closes to visitors during the five daily prayers, and for longer at Friday midday. Shoes come off at the door (bags are provided), shoulders and knees should be covered and women cover their hair; scarves are usually available at the entrance.
