Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayramı) 2027 falls on 16–19 May, with the eve (arefe) on Saturday 15 May, according to the calendar of Türkiye's Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). It is a four-day public holiday in Türkiye.

Where to stay

On the first morning the Eid prayer is held shortly after sunrise, and the old city's great mosques — the Blue Mosque, the Süleymaniye, Hagia Sophia — fill early; Hotel Marius is about 10 minutes on foot from Sultanahmet. Over the holiday the Grand Bazaar closes and some museums may open only in the afternoon on the first day, so check before you go; restaurants stay open and the ferries run on holiday timetables. Turkish families travel too, so rooms in the old city go quickly — book early.
