The Istanbul Marathon is on Sunday 1 November 2026. The start is on the Asian side at the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, the course crosses the Bosphorus into Europe, and the 42 km race finishes in front of the Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet. A 15.5 km race on the same morning finishes at Yenikapı.

Where to stay

The marathon finish is about fifteen minutes' walk from our door in Sirkeci, and the 15.5 km finish at Yenikapı is one Marmaray stop away — after the race you walk or ride back instead of looking for a taxi on a day of road closures. To reach the start on the Asian side, the Marmaray crosses from Sirkeci to Üsküdar in about four minutes; check the organiser's race-day transport before you set out. Breakfast is included and the front desk is staffed 24 hours.
